APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are available on the day
A number of appointments can be booked on the day by the Receptionist. Please phone for an appointment between 8.30am and 9.30am or call in at the surgery between 8.30am and 9.30am and you will be given a timed appointment for that day. These appointments are for patients who feel unwell on the day and feel they need to be seen urgently. Please be aware we will try to accommodate your appointment time request but if this is not possible we would expect you would be able to come when we have availability as it is an urgent request.
Urgent problems on the day
When appointments on the day are full you maybe offered a telephone consultation with the Doctor On Call who will call you back during the day to assess the situation. Please ensure you give us your correct contact telephone details so the Doctor can contact you.
Pre-bookable appointments
The late evening appointments are pre-bookable and are designed for patients who work and who need to see a Doctor non urgently. The appointments start at 6.30pm through to 7.30pm, the last appointment being at 7.00pm, Monday through to Thursday. If you book one of these appointments please write it in you dairy or put it into your mobile phone as we are experiencing quite a high non attendance rate which is wasting the Doctors time and preventing other patients being able to see a Doctor.
Online Appointments
We offer online appointment booking for patients to book with a Doctor. This is now available for under 16's also. So as not to disadvantage patients who do not have internet access we have not released all appointments but as demand rises this will be reviewed. Before you can start booking online you will need to be registered on the system by coming into the Surgery in person and speaking with a Receptionist. You will only be able to book appointments for yourself once you are registered. Parents will be able to register for on line booking for children under the age of 16. There are leaflets in Reception which will give you all the information you need.
Home Visits
Home visits are for seriously ill patients who are genuinely to unwell to travel to the Surgery. If you need a home visit, please telephone between 8.30am and 10.00am so the Doctors can plan their work for the day. Please remember many patients can be seen in the Surgery during the time it takes to do a single visit.
Nurses Appointments
All Nurses appointments can be pre-booked so please give as much notice as possible for routine health screening or follow up appointments to ensure you have the best opportunity to get the day and time you require.
Out of Hours Cover
If you need medical advice after 6.30 pm in the evening or at weekends or on Bank Holidays, please telephone the normal surgery telephone number 01454 616262 and you will be connected to our Out of Hours service provider Brisdoc.
