ABOUT THE DOCTORS:

Dr Elizabeth J Todd
BSc, PhD, MBChB, FP Cert, Cert JCPGTGP, FRSM
First registered 1979 Bristol University and spent 7 years specialising in General Surgery & Ophthalmology. She was selected for the Bristol 3 year GP Vocational Training Scheme and obtained the Certificate of Post Graduate Training in General Practice in 1985 and the Family Planning Certificate in 1987. Dr Todd also has special interests in Ophthalmology, Sports Medicine, Emergency/Casualty Medicine, Paediatrics, Minor Surgery The Practice was established by Dr Todd in 1987 and due to rapid expansion she built a new surgery in 1991. The Practice continues to expand rapidly and now has a staff of 50 working for the community.

Dr Norman T E Douglas
MBBCh, BAO, MRCGP, DRCOG
First registered 1979 Queens University, Belfast. Spent 9 years in a single handed practice in Toronto, Canada. Whilst in England, Dr Douglas obtained the DRCOG in 1982 and the MRCGP in 1983. Whilst in Canada he qualified and enjoyed working in Obstetrics & Paediatrics.

Dr Tim Garrod
BSc, MBChB, DGM, DFFP, MRCGP
Qualified in medicine in Bristol University in 1991, and completed his vocational training in Bristol, Gloucestershire & Somerset. He has obtained Post Graduate qualifications in family planning and medicine of the elderly, and gained membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1996.

Dr Sophie Kilmartin
MBBS, DFFP, MRGP
Qualified in medicine at St Bartholomew's & The Royal London Medical School in 1997 and did her GP training in Southampton & the New Forest.  Her interests include Family Planning & General Medicine.

Dr Sandra Kelland
MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG
Qualified in medicine at Bristol University in 1988 and completed her GP vocational training in Bristol and Exeter.  Her special interests include Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Paediatrics.

Dr Tony Riley
MB BCh, DCH, MRCGP, D Occ.Med
Qualified in 1992 from University of Wales College of Medicine. He completed his GP training in South Wales and the Welsh Valleys. He gained membership of the Royal College of General Practioners in 1998. He has interests in Cadiovascular Medicine and Occupational Medicine and works as an Occupational Health Doctor as well as a GP.

Dr Jeff Ford MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP
Qualified in 1978 from Dundee University. He completed his GP training in Hereford County and has been in General Practice since 1984. He is also an Endoscopist and works in Southmead Hospital.

Dr Hnin Yi WinMBChB, MRCP, MRCGP, DRCOG
Qualified in 2003 from University of Edinburgh. She undertook her hospital training in London and Surrey and gained the membership to the Royal College of Physicians in 2005 before joining the vocational training in Severn region. She has interests in chronic medical problems, drug misuse management, family planning and cancer/palliative care.

Dr Katherine LongMBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP
Qualified in medicine at Bristol University in 2000 and completed her GP vocational training in Exeter. Her interests include Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Family Planning.

District Nurses
Our team of district nurses are responsible for the assessment of nursing needs and delivery of nursing care for patients confined to home. Contact Patchway Clinic Tel (0117) 969 2370

Community Midwives
Currently based at Patchway Clinic and Filton Clinic, the Midwives will provide care during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. They offer an integrated style of care, workly closely with the maternity unit at Southmead Hospital.

Community Health Visitors
Currently working out of Patchway Clinic, the team comprises of health visitors, health visitor assistants and clerks. They are available Monday to Friday for advice and development checks. The health visting team also runs a variety of groups for mums and toddlers.
